In a world filled with fast fashion and fleeting trends, Patricia Broniola stands out not just for her whimsical designs, but for the soul she stitches into every piece.
A storytelling-driven fashion designer, Patricia believes that fashion should go beyond aesthetics. “I wanted to create pieces that weren’t just pretty on the outside,” she shares. “They should be made with purpose and meaning as well.”
Her design philosophy is deeply rooted in craftsmanship and community. Through handmade techniques like embroidery, beading, and crochet, Patricia blends tradition with innovation turning garments into wearable art that speaks to both the heart and heritage of the maker.
Where It All Began: A Spark at Conscious Commons
Our paths crossed two full moons ago at a warm and cozy gathering called Common Friends at Conscious Commons in Legazpi Village in Makati City. hosted by Patch of Spark Project Patricia showcased her playful, eye-catching skirts with embellished hand made embroidery each one lovingly handmade and brimming with personality.
Beneath the charm of her designs, we discovered a soul eager to collaborate, to uplift, and to connect.
Creating with Compassion: Collaboration with Makati City Jail Women’s Dorm
What started as a casual conversation quickly bloomed into something beautiful. Within just one week of meeting, we crafted a collaboration to bring a creative rehabilitation program to the women of the Makati City Jail.
Patricia showed up not as a guest, but as a co-creator. With gentleness in her voice and a fire in her craft, she made space for the “heart-tisans” of the women's dorm to feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
Week after week, threads and stories intertwined as Patricia and the women stitched their truths into cloth. Her selfless presence and quiet strength inspired trust. The women became fond of her, not just as a designer, but as a kindred spirit.
Wearable Art as Healing: A Purpose Bigger Than Fashion
Patricia’s creations are not simply garments,they are acts of healing. Each embroidered detail is a reminder that dignity, creativity, and second chances can bloom even behind walls.
Her commitment to community-led design is at the heart of why she’s a perfect match for Laya Creative Hub. In every workshop, she offers not just technical skill, but emotional presence ,encouraging our PDL artists to express themselves freely, courageously, and beautifully.
